Best Running Shoes for Wide Feet
Finding running shoes that fit wide feet shouldn't be a compromise. Here are the best wide-fit options available in the UK.

Wide-footed runners have historically had a tough time finding shoes that don't squeeze or cause blisters. The good news: several major brands now offer wide-fit variants as standard, and some brands simply run wider across their whole range.
Brands that run wide
New Balance is the standout choice for wide feet. They offer many models in 2E (wide) and 4E (extra wide) widths as standard. The 1080v14 and 860v14 are both available in wider fits.
Altra runs wide as standard across its entire range. Their foot-shaped toe box is designed to allow toes to spread naturally, making them particularly good for runners who've suffered from blisters or black toenails in other brands.
Hoka's shoes tend to run slightly wider than Nike or Adidas, particularly in the toe box. The Bondi 9 and Clifton 10 both work well for runners with wider feet.
What to avoid
Nike and Adidas race shoes tend to run narrow, particularly their carbon plate racers. The Vaporfly and Adizero Adios Pro are not suitable for wide feet. The fit is intentionally snug for performance reasons.
If you're between widths, always size up half a size rather than forcing a standard width. A slightly longer shoe is always preferable to one that's too narrow.
